Apostle of Peitho is on its way to become a city management game taking cues, ideas and inspiration from a wide variety of games like Europa Universalis (events, domestic politics with various factions, rebels, laws to enact and so on), Progress Quest (randomly generated adventurers come to your city to explore dungeons all on their own without your input) and others. It will also feature randomized events, storylines and quest lines.
It's also dreaming of one day having "AI opponents" (I use that term loosely because I have no idea what I am capable of making^^), a sengoku rance style combat system as well as a diplomacy system inspired by various 4x series.
What makes it special?:
AoP is built around the idea that smutty games can be more than "just" porn or CG delivery systems. While I want sex to play a major part in the overall experience I also want actual gameplay and replay value, both of which a large majority of adult games sorely miss. As such for the moment there are two things I am focusing on the most:
a) a solid foundation of gameplay features as a basis and framework to build and expand upon.
b) modding capabilities: Modding to me is one of the most important aspects of gaming in general, so the content of most mechanics/systems is customizable out of the box without any coding knowledge of your own via simple .xml editing. Ranging from creating your own items, races, classes, dialogues, events, quests and story lines to adding art assets (and of course editing existing ones).
My goal is to enable people to basically make a total conversion of the game to whatever theme/kinks/setting they please... make it a Star Wars game where everybody is a chocolate milk lactating cow girl, make it play in Middle Earth where dwarves, elves, hobbits and orcs engage in peaceful and gentle vanilla loving while Sauron and Gandalf are the most flamboyant couple in the neighborhood... hell... make it play in an alternate universe where everybody is made of cheese and is wildly into plushy handcuffs! Your ideas are fantastic, I love you.
Since I am using a visual scripting addon for unity to create this game and have no coding knowledge of my own I can't make the code available for people to mess with, but I am offering a wide variety of ways to alter the actual "contents", the meat of the game if you will, via simple .xml editing everybody can get into quickly without much or any prior experience.
The "sexy stuff" will be delivered mainly through events and dialogues with text and images. I'm also entertaining the idea of having animated sprites in the adventurer profiles, for when the nastier things happen to the adventurers while they're out dungeoneering
