Story is intentionally generic and filled with fantasy tropes. So there is teeny heroic MC, his childhood friend and schoolmates, evil demonic villain, dark prophecy... etc. etc.
I'm staunch opponent of any kind of grind, therefore you won't find much of it in DLR. In fact, first part is very narration-driven and only near the end turns into more RPG-likey experience.
