You didn't choose Cinderfall. Cinderfall chose you.
Falsely accused of a murder you didn't commit, you're exiled from the mainland with nothing but a name in a dock ledger and sixty gold pressed into your hand by a shark-toothed old boatman who talks too much. Somewhere back home, the real killer is still walking free — and the only clue to who they are might be buried on the one island nobody escapes from.
Cinderfall doesn't care about your past. It cares about your prices.
You inherit a dusty, empty shop in the town of Thornveil — and from day one, the island runs on a simple rhythm: stock your shelves, set your prices, send companions out on dangerous collection routes, and spend your afternoons hunting through haunted mines, crumbling shrines, and bandit-held ruins. Sell too cheap and you starve. Sell too greedy and the town stops trusting you. Miss your taxes and the collector remembers your name.
You got reasons to stay!
