The year is the near future, 2079.
While humanity has made technological advancements that have broken through the barriers of biological genes, Seijin Biotech secretly begins the "T-7 Symbiote" experiment under the guise of "treating incurable diseases." Their aim was to fuse human cells with the genes of an unknown extraterrestrial life form to create "super soldiers."
However, the experiment spiraled out of control, and the symbiote began to invade humans, transforming them into monstrous, irrational creatures known as "Distortions." To conceal the truth, Seijin Biotech sealed off Kuroiwa City, where the experimental base was located, and deployed mercenary forces to "eliminate" the survivors.
Ella's sister, Ria, was a core researcher at Seijin Biotech and the only person who knew the formula for the experiment's antidote. However, after sending a distress signal to Ella just before the seal-off, she has been missing ever since.
