Other residents move around the house on their own schedules, and any actions you take in one room might be overheard from another. Walk-ins, confrontations, and lockouts
Push things too far and characters may storm in during a reshuffle, confront you about your behaviour, or banish you to the yard until you’ve cooled off (make Chuck snap and you'll get a ride to the "Dougie doctor"... snip snip!).
