Our protagonist is a third-rate civil servant. Though he lives the life people expect of him, he can't help but feel a sense of emptiness.
The only time his heart had ever truly sung was when his shoulder bumped into a woman on the street and he heard her scream.
Hoping to experience that thrill once more, he threaded his way into a crowded train and fumbled his way into new territory...
