Each year, world-famous author - and notorious predator - K. M. Lyons chooses six aspiring novelists to receive a personal mentorship. The catch? At the end of the year, she plans to swallow and digest the student who has written the least excellent novel. Young predator Liz Newcomb has spent years dreaming of this opportunity, but now that it's hers... will she be able to put down roots in the big city, bring her novel up to Lyons' standards, and survive the intensifying 21st-century vore crisis?
New Pred in Town is an adult visual novel based around the vore fetish. In its universe, human evolution went just a bit differently. All women are biologically capable of swallowing people whole, but most go a whole lifetime without digesting another person. Those who do are not treated as criminals but something else entirely - the predator is a complicated figure in society, both huntress and hunted. She is her community's defense against scum and villainy, yet the last person they will stand up for should she run afoul of a more dangerous predator.
At least, that's how things were supposed to work. In the modern world, as social taboos fray and more young women choose predation, the 21st-Century Vore Crisis has begun to spiral out of control...
New Pred in Town features deckbuilder/card battler gameplay. Prey characters must struggle to inflict nausea on predators before they are digested - while the predator does her best to restrain her prey, massage away nausea, or burp up precious oxygen. Clever combinations of techniques, and taking advantage of the direction the prey is facing, may be the difference between life and death!
Over the course of the story Liz will meet fascinating people, grapple with issues of purpose and community, find her place in an increasingly uncertain world... and do her best to avoid being digested by more dangerous predators!
Featuring a hand-drawn UI, twelve professionally composed music tracks, and a roguelike Endless Mode, New Pred in Town was a joy to put together, and there's so much more to come! The current alpha covers about 60% of the writing (and six out of the fourteen vore scenes) for the first in-game day. It'll take a few years for the project to expand into its full scope. I'm currently planning four weeks of gameplay, one for each season - plus a to-be-determined number of standalone days to cover holidays and other important events in Liz's year.
