The Poetess is a contemplative, creative card game based on the poetry of Sappho. A typical game can be completed in 1-2 minutes
Sappho (c. 630 – c. 570 BC) — the Poetess, the Tenth Muse — was an Archaic Greek poet and musician best known today for her writings of love and desire between women. It's from her name that we derive the word sapphic, and from her home of Lesbos, the word lesbian.
Today, only a single poem of Sappho's survives complete. The rest are fragments.
What was there in those missing spaces, we'll never know for sure. Only in our own private readings can we fill in the gaps for ourselves.
